The first step of construction is to cut and mark the fabric.  For this project I'm trying a new (to me) method of cutting.  I've transferred the pattern onto heavy cardstock and will use those pieces in marking the fabric.  To mark, I simply trace around the edge of each piece with tailor's chalk.  The dots are marked by dumping powdered chalk on holes cut in the cardstock.  Later on, I will use thread to temporarily mark each dot using tailor's tacks.
